Affected Services:
We’re excited to announce that from Sunday 20th April (Easter Sunday) we’re making improvements to several of our bus services, including adding later journeys on some of our busier routes. Other routes are being changed to help buses stay as punctual as possible following the ever-worsening traffic congestion in and around King’s Lynn, particularly at peak time.
A summary of these service changes is outlined below:
Service 33/33A (King’s Lynn to Hunstanton via Docking) – Minor revision to the route of morning school journey 33A.
Services 34/35/36 (King’s Lynn to Hunstanton) – NEW! Later journey on route 34 Mondays to Saturdays from King’s Lynn at 2110hrs and returning from Hunstanton at 2205hrs throughout the year. There are also some other minor changes to timetables to assist with helping buses keep to time. The Monday to Saturday's 0810hrs service 34 journey from King’s Lynn to the Hunstanton is replaced by a new 0810hrs service 49 journey as far as the Q.E Hospital only. There is also a new Mondays to Saturday's service 34 journey commencing at Manor Road End, Dersingham at 0829hrs to Hunstanton. Unfortunately, it is not possible to punctually operate the through journey to Hunstanton at this time of day due to unpredictable traffic congestion through Gaywood.
Coastliner 36 – NEW! Later journey from King’s Lynn at 1745hrs to Wells-next-the-Sea on Thursdays and Friday throughout June, July and August. NEW! Later journey from Wells-next-the-Sea towards King’s Lynn at 1933hrs on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout June, July and August.
Service 408 (Heacham to Smithdon High School) – This school journey is now included within the service 34 timetable (operating at the same times as currently).
Service 38 (Fair Green to King’s Lynn) – Minor revisions to timetable.
Service 42 (King’s Lynn to Fairstead circular) – NEW! Later journeys leaving King’s Lynn at 2030 and 2100hrs on Mondays to Saturdays. Other minor timetable changes.
Service 43 (North Wootton to King’s Lynn) – The morning journey will operate 5 minutes earlier than currently and extend beyond Gaywood to King’s Lynn Transport Interchange.
Services 48/49/49A (King’s Lynn to Fakenham) - The existing 0733hrs service 49A from Fakenham to King’s Lynn (via Great Massingham and Gayton) is replaced by a 0733hrs service 49 (via Hillington) on Mondays to Fridays. The first service 48 of the day will now commence from Harpley and operate via Great Massingham to provide a replacement for the revised 49A. The 1745hrs 48 from King’s Lynn has been extended beyond Grimston to offer a later bus to Fakenham on Mondays to Fridays. NEW! 1900hrs Service 49 from Fakenham to King’s Lynn on Mondays to Fridays.
The changes to morning journeys into King’s Lynn from Fakenham and Grimston are to help buses get into Gaywood and King’s Lynn on time following the worsening traffic congestion on the B1145 near Mintlyn crematorium and cars queuing to turn right into Queensway for Springwood High School.
Service 414/5 – Minor timetable changes to assist with punctuality.
You can also download our brand new network map here.
Some of these changes have been made possible thanks to UK Government Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding.
Affected Services:
Due to the closure of Burnt Street in Wells-next-the-Sea for Norfolk CC resurfacing works our Coastliner 36 buses will need to operate a diversion route missing out Burnt Street, Mill Lane and Buttlands in the town.
The nearest alternative bus stops are located at Standard Road near to Northfield Lane. Buses towards Hunstanton and King's Lynn will pick up opposite Northfield Lane and buses towards Fakenham will pick up adjacent to Northfield Lane.
School services 414 and 415 will drop off (AM) and pick up (PM) on Market Lane near Alderman Peel High School instead of the usual bus stops on Burnt Street.
Affected Services:
Please be advised that there are various Pilgrimages taking place at Walsingham village throughout the year:
On these dates there will be disruption and diversions on our Coastliner 36 buses which means that the following locations cannot be served by us:
- East Barsham
- Houghton St Giles
- Walsingham Bull/Pump
During the closures the nearest alternative bus stops are located at Walsingham outside the Primary School (towards Fakenham) and opposite the Primary School (towards Wells-next-the-Sea).
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Affected Services:
From Monday 10th March until early May 2025 (exact finish date to be advised at a later date) no buses are able to serve the Railway Station forecourt in King's Lynn. This is due to Norfolk County Council Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) works to improve this location for buses in the future.
The nearest alternative bus stops are located at King's Lynn Bus Station.
