Coastal Red Ltd t/a Lynx – Scholar tickets Terms & Conditions
– Scholar Tickets are issued to those children/young persons (aged 5-19 years) who travel to school or college by bus regularly.
– They are available for either one term at a time or the entire academic year (1 term is £200 and annual is £580) and are an alternative to weekly or monthly tickets.
– These tickets are valid for unlimited travel on Coastal Red Ltd t/a Lynx local bus services 33, 33a, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 41, 42, 43, 46/X46, 48, 49/49a and 54.
– Special reduced price termly tickets are also available for shorter journeys on our network. These include between Heacham and Hunstanton and also King’s Lynn town (including Hardwick, North & South Wootton & Gaywood/QE Hospital).
– Special premium termly and annual passes are available for Service 414 & 415 to/from Alderman Peel High School.
– These tickets are not transferable and, if it is transferred or attempted to be transferred, we will confiscate and both you and the person to whom it was transferred or attempted to be transferred will be liable to prosecution as this is in breach of the law.
– Passes should be shown to the driver when boarding the bus and be available for inspection during the journey by a company official.
– If a student is unable to produce their ticket for travel (e.g. if the pass has been lost during the school or college day) they may be charged the appropriate fare to reach their destination.
– Should the scholar ticket be stolen, please notify us immediately. Whilst you are not automatically entitled to a duplicate ticket, we can issue a duplicate ticket for the remaining period of that season ticket (less and admin and handling fees we incur). – If the scholar ticket is subsequently found, you must return that duplicate at once to us.
– Any refunds will not be made in respect of Christmas or Boxing Day, any other statutory holidays, any other days on which it can be foreseen that no service will be provided or days on which the Company has advertised a suspension of service.
Please note:
1. Not all Coastal Red Ltd t/a Lynx bus services operate 7 days per week.
2. Student passes are available to all 5-19 year olds in education.
3. Passes can be used for unlimited travel on any day during the validity period.
4. Replacement for lost/stolen passes will be charged at £10.
5. Photo ID is required for all passes.
6. Any refunds (for certain circumstances at our discretion) incur an admin charge of £25 and are calculated as per the formula below*.
7. Passes are sent out two weeks prior to the commencement of a new term or if purchased within three working days if purchased with less than two weeks before term starts.
* Pass refund formula:
Total original price less (days consumed multiplied by price per day) = Total refund before £25 admin fee.
Price per day = Total price of pass divided by number of days in validity period
Days ‘consumed’ = Number of days from pass commencement date to when it is received at our Office for refund (or if mTicket the cancellation request date).
