Fare changes from 30th March 2026

From Monday 30th March we’ll be making changes to some of our ticket types as well as introducing Tap on Tap Off (ToTo) payments on our buses. 

The vast majority of fares are unchanged but we have had to make some selective increases (approx. 5%) to return tickets as well as change the validity of some ticket types. The key changes are as follows:

Single tickets – All fares still frozen at their current levels including the £1.50 King’s Lynn town fares.

Two-trip tickets – The majority of these tickets will increase by approximately 5%. These were previously valid for up to 1 month from the day of purchase but now must be used by the end of the day they were purchased. If you are making two one-way trips between two points on different days then single tickets will likely be the most cost-effective option. Two-trip tickets will be renamed Return tickets to reflect their new validity. Two-trip tickets purchased prior to the 30th March will continue to be valid until the expiry date printed on the ticket. 

Return tickets on routes 414/415 will remain unchanged. 

Day tickets – Townrider Day and Explorer Day tickets are frozen in price. Coast Day tickets will increase to £14 for Adults, £11 for 5-19's and £25 for Groups. 

Weekly tickets – These are all frozen in price and remain 15% discounted thanks to Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding.

Monthly tickets – These are all frozen in price and remain 15% discounted thanks to Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding.

Transfer tickets – These tickets have been discontinued as were subject to instances of fraudulent use and additionally were also confusing for customers and staff alike.

These were available for customers transferring from one-bus to another without any additional charge, for example from West Winch to Queen Elizabeth Hospital which involved changing bus in King’s Lynn Bus Station. Customers making ‘transfer’ type journeys will now need to purchase two separate tickets for each leg of the journey or alternatively purchase an unlimited travel Day, Week or Month ticket (Townrider, Explorer or Coast). 

The removal of anomalies such as two-trip tickets and transfer tickets brings our fares offering more in line with other bus operators in Norfolk and will also support the gradual movement to more Tap-on, Tap-off journeys which help to speed up journey times.
